Newton Party Announcement

I will be hosting a party next friday, August 6. But this time, it's different! As it'll be in Newton, not Amherst. My 'rents are out of town until some time the next night, or maybe Sunday, so I'm going to take advantage of the ability to have people be there late without having to worry about noise. No, this isn't license to tear up the place, and it does need to be clean the next day, but it's still better than usual.

So! It'll start at 18:00 (or 6pm for those people who prefer am/pm time and are arithmetic-impaired), end when people are gone, and I expect *you* to be there. Yes, you. You know who you are, and I know where you live, so you'd better show up.

Be sensible on guests. That's all. I'll let you know afterwards if you erred - but don't err on the side of not bringing someone if you think they're cool and would enjoy the party.

Don't bring alcohol, as you can't drink it here. I don't think it'd add anything to the party. If you do - host your own party. Alternatively, convince me that I'm wrong.

What you *should* bring is:

  • Games. Lots of games. I didn't bring *any* with me from Amherst, so if you have 'em, bring 'em. Games I would especially like to see include Apples to Apples, Settlers of Catan, Girl Genius: The Works, Quiddler, and anything else by Klaus Teuber.
  • Food. I have some money for food, but there's basically nothing just sitting in the house, and I may not be able to pick up party food beforehand - the lack of a car is a rather major impairment in that regard. And even if I do, bring food. Because food is good and all, y'know? I'll be making some main-dish-type food (it will be vegan and not spicy, so as to be edible by the most people, though it will probably contain gluten), but more is good.
  • Other stuff. Think other people would enjoy it? Don't think other people would enjoy it, but would get a kick out of watching them squirm? Think it will make people become insane simply to look upon its visage? Bring it! Just kidding about that last, though. No elder gods - sorry.
  • Your wonderful self.

This is at my place in Newton. The address is:
40 Devonshire rd.
Waban, MA 02468

This happens to be right by the Waban T stop on the Green D line - about 3 blocks away. You get off the T, walk up the stairs to the left, and take a left onto Beacon. Take your first left onto Collins, past a church. Stay on that road on down the hill, not going down the dead end street on your left. You'll come to a fork - the right fork is Devonshire. Three houses down on the left is #40, my place.

It's made of brick and has a white, gothic-arched door and a brick front walk. You can park in front or in our half of the driveway (it's shared with our neighbors), which is to the right of the house, looking at it from the street. If you get lost, call my cell: (413)-433-0739

There is some crash space available. Ask me.

Be there!
